Highlighting Southern Utah’s biological and geological history, the museum exhibits include items such as fossils, minerals, rocks, as well as displays on the region’s ecosystem. The adjacent science building features a few exhibits and patrons are welcome to tour the nearby greenhouse.

Iron Mission State Park
Located on 11 acres just north of downtown Cedar City, Iron Mission State Park is home to a museum chronicling Iron County history since 1850 through displays of over 200 Southern Paiute artifacts, pioneer relics, farm implements, and an impressive collection of horse-drawn wagons, including mail carts, a hearse and an overland stagecoach. The grounds are home to a few historic buildings relocated from their original sites, including a former sheep shed and the Hunter House, one of the first homes built in the area.

Housed in the Iron County Visitor Center on Main Street, the volunteer operated museum displays many pioneer artifacts, including photographs, documents and period furniture, clothing, and equipment.
Hours of Operation:
Winter: Mon. - Fri. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. & Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.;
Winter: Mon. - Fri. 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
