Southern Utah is home to several national parks; it is also home to a great variety of wildlife. In fact, Zion National Park is home to many different species of fauna. Large predator cats - like cougars - live in the park but are hardly seen. Some of the more commonly seen animals are desert cottontail rabbits, squirrels, lizards, frogs, and members of 250 species of birds like the American dipper and black-headed grosbeak.
