Zion National Park Photography Tips:
While it can be a tricky place to photograph, Zion National Park pictures can be some of the most scenic and visually rewarding. The avid photographer can spend an entire day just in the Zion Canyon section of the park and still not have captured all of its different views and formations. The reason that Zion National Park can be so difficult to photograph is because you are on the ground, photographing upward. You also have to deal with the extreme lights and shadows cast by Zion’s towering cliffs. The Court of the Patriarchs in Zion Canyon is a great place to shoot landscape panoramas or if you are feeling really ambitious you can climb to the top of Angels Landing or Observation Point for some great shots of the valley below. The peaks on the west side of Zion Canyon are best photographed before 10:30 a.m., while the eastern peaks make great afternoon subjects. The deeper into the canyon that you choose to explore the more incredible photo opportunities you will find. No matter what you are searching for, Zion National Park with its breathtaking landscapes and incredible rock formations has enough photo opportunities to provide everyone from the amateur to the most seasoned professional with great pictures. |
