Sundance Film Festival

Robert Redford created Sundance in 1969, envisioning a community where the arts, environment and recreation would flourish in harmony. Sundance was named by the editors of Ski Magazine as one of the best "smaller" areas in the country.

Sundance is located 1 hour southeast of Salt Lake International Airport.

Location

Sundance is located 1 hour southeast of Salt Lake International Airport. When exiting the airport turn on I-80 East towards Provo. Transfer I-80 East to I-215 South and then to I-15. Continue on I-15 to Orem. Exit freeway at exit #275 (800 North). Travel East on 8th North until you come to the mouth of Provo Canyon. Using the left lane, take Highway 189 north towards Heber City, for approximately 7 miles. Turn left at the Sundance turn off and continue for 2 miles up the North Fork Canyon to Sundance.

Season

Sundance mountain winter recreation opens early December and closes in April.

Child Care

Limited care is available through the Sundance Ski School.

Lessons

Lessons are available in hour increments beginning at 9:00 am, 11:00 am and 1:00 PM. General, private, children's and group ski instruction are all available by calling the Sundance Ski School at 801-223-4140.
